Secret Income - What Separates Multi-Millionaires From Everyone Else?

If you're like me your parents were average people who believed there is just one reliable way to earn an honest living: "get educated, get a good job, & build a solid pension." Recent economic events from mass lay-offs to the bail out of Fanny & Freddie Mac have led many average people to say, "This isn't working! Is there another honest way, something I don't know?" The answer is, "Yes, it's the "secret income" of multi-millionaires."

Our parents' way

Before we get into the multi-millionaire income let's take a closer look at the most common one, that is, linear income. Linear income, the kind our parents advocated, is what most average people earn. Anyone with a job has linear income. Let's say you have a job & you work today, do you get paid for that day's work? Of course you do. Now let's say tomorrow you don't work, do you still get paid? No, you don't. That is how linear income works. You get paid only for the time you are actually working.

So a stable hand, a real estate sales person, & a nuclear physicist all get paid the same way. They trade time for dollars. "X" amount of time worked = $X. No time worked = $0.00. Even though the skills for each job are valued differently, once they're off the clock they all stop earning money. No matter the reason -sickness, vacations, lay-offs, all aretreated the same - zero income for zero work. Heck, even if a pension is earned, it's 2/3 of what inflation is constantly making smaller.

The Multi-Millionaire's Income

Now let's look at the second kind of income. This is known as "residual income", "royalty income", or "passive income". Who earns this income? World-class athletes like Michael Jordan, entertainers like Elvis Presley, & publishers like J. K. Rolling who wrote the Harry Potter series.

On the surface, talent aside, it seems there's no difference between Michael Jordan, Elvis, & J. K. Rolling. After all, they all suited up & showed up in their professions. That's true… but they all have one thing in common that separates their income from job holders. They all signed contracts that say they will always get paid a royalty commission anytime a consume buys what they endorsed or produced.

- As long as Nike airs its "Air Jordan" shoes ad on TV that ad earns Michael Jordan a royalty commission.
- As long as people continue to by Elvis songs & radio stations play them Pricilla Presley (Elvis' daughter) will continue to receive royalty checks.
- J. K. Rolling will continue to receive royalty checks as long as people buy Harry Potter books.

Michael Jordan, Elvis Presley, & J. K. Rolling all did their thing right once & continue to get paid. And here's another cool thing about royalty income.Prisilla Presley will receive $25 Million in 2008 for work her father did 30 years ago. That means both Michael & J. K. Rolling can stop working today, still get paid, & then pass those royalties on to their heirs.

OK, so you're not a super-star athlete, singer, or publisher. So what can you do to earn a royalty check? The answer is very simple … just continue to do what you've done since you were 5 years old, but start getting paid to do it.Since you were 5 you've been telling people about foods, music, places, etc. that you like & telling them they ought to try it themselves. In network marketing you use that same sharing skill to recommend to others that they check out a product or service.

Say you recommend Sue try out a network marketing company's product or service. That company will pay you a royalty check each time Sue buys from them. Then when Sue recommends Paul try the products & he buys something, you get a check for that too. Plus, if Sue becomes a rep like you, then you earn royalty income from your purchases, Sue's purchases, & those of her customers & team members. As you can see network marketing royalty checks tend to grow with time.

Can you make a living referring people to products you like?

Well, let's just put it this way, the network marketing industry brings in a cool $100 Billion annually. Part of that royalty income can be yours. All you need is the desire to do the work right once, a simple system, & the proper support. From there all you need to do is decide how big you want your royalty check to be.

What Does A MLM Compensation Plan That Pays Part-Timers Look Like?

The fourth of the 5 Pillars for Success in a network marketing company is a compensation Plan that pays part-timers. But what exactly are the qualifications for this kind of comp plan?

Let's look at some network marketing industry facts.

1. 95% of any team in a MLM business is building it part-time
2. A fair compensation plan pays the most amount of money with the least amount of team members.

I know what you're thinking, "But there's so many different comp plans, and they all look like Greek to me. Is there an easy way to spot these qualifications?

Say hello to my little friend ... The $10,000 Question.

To cut through all the confusing compensation plan qualifications and achievement levels just ask, ”How many team members would it take to earn a $10,000 check?”

The $10,000 question gives you the answer quickly and easily. Here's how it works. Just divide 10,000 by the retail commission amount per item sold. The result is the number of team members required to earn a $10,000 monthly check.

Example:1

Let’s say a product earns a $2.50 commission per unit sold.
$10,000 (monthly check) ÷ $2.50 (commission) = 4,000 (team members buying 1 item per month)

Example:2

In this case the commission rate is $20.
$10,000 (monthly check) ÷ $20 (commission) = 500 (team members buying 1 item per month)

Which do you think is easier to build, a team of 4,000, or a team of 500?

If 95% of your team doesn’t get a dime, then you will have a problem. Retention in a company is easiest when there is a fair compensation plan. Using the $10K question is the easiest way to see if compensation plan pays the most money with the least team members. If the final figure is out of reach for average people, then I would start looking somewhere else.

MLM Golden Goose ... Or Mud Duck?

What do you need from a network marketing company so you can succeed long-term? Don't know? Think you do? You might be surprised.

Goose, Goose … Mud Duck!

Some MLM companies hype up their comp plan or the product they offer. They know they have to make you think what they offer is a magical way to endless riches. In a way this is true … for the company and its top leaders. Mean while, the average folks are left with a foul, worthless, and frustrating load of feathers.

The Booby Prize

These companies encourage their super-gurus to say network marketing is all about recruiting, selling, or closing. Don’t You Believe It! This is just a mud duck with gold glitter glued on it to hide the unethical behavior that greed and ego produces from the top down. And this is how honest people get taken.

The Prize Bird

The 5 Pillars For Success are what you must look for in a MLM company that will pay long-term residual income

1. Company Management Experience With Integrity
2. Timing In The Company, Timing In The Industry
3. A Remarkable Product
4. A Compensation Plan Set-Up So Average People Can Get A Check Right Away
em>5. A System For Average People To Succeed

If a MLM company lacks any or all of these five pillars, then you might as well start looking for a giant bean stalk to climb. Your results will be about the same.

How To Find The Best Prospects

Whether you are new to network marketing, or you're a business building veteran, you have probably gained a healthy respect for the value of prospects. In fact you'd probably agree it's a slam-dunk that without prospects no one can build a profitable MLM business.

But how many people are slamming their heads against a brick wall because they have a totally warped idea of any prospect's value? TONS!

What am I talking about?

I am talking about the Holy Grail of the prospect pool. Every would-be Knight of the Residual Income Round Table asks, "Where do I find the best prospect?" Or they ask , "Where can I find good quality leads".

Good And Bad Prospects Are Like Unicorns

They don't exist … until we talk to them. Here's a good example of how we change a neutral prospect into a "bad" one..

The Date You Might Get

OK gentlemen, you see a nice lady you'd like to get close to. Now suppose you use one of these ice-breakers.

1. "How much do you weigh?"
2. "Why did you dye your hair that color?"
3. "Are those your real teeth?"
4. "Have you ever considered having a face lift?"
5. "Didn't I see you working the red light district?"

Will this lady fall in love with you if you say things like these to her? I doubt it. In fact you'll probably be doing well if she doesn't slap you.

Reality Check People!

The fact is network marketing leads, your prospects, are people just like you. Chances are if you would not like to be treated the way you treat your prospects, then they will not like it either. And so they immediately become "bad" prospects.

All prospects are basically neutral … until we talk to them. It is what we say to them and how we treat them that makes prospects good or bad.

Relationship building is what this business is all about. When your prospects know, like, and trust you suddenly they become more valuable than gold.
